The story explained
Amogy and A*STAR announced a first-phase ammonia-cracking pilot on October 23. Deployment at Jurong Island is planned for 2027, targeting up to one tonne of hydrogen daily rather than existing operating output.
The LCT³ facility, hosted by A*STAR’s sustainability research institute and supported by Singapore’s Economic Development Board, broke ground October 23. Amogy is among its first project partners, extending a collaboration announced in September 2025.
Amogy will provide reformer and catalyst technology and oversee execution. Joint work on lower-cost catalysts and industrial operating data will support scale-up assessment. The release supplies no measured pilot efficiency, equipment purchasing list or acceptance results.
The company also plans to expand local R&D, business development and execution capabilities, including its first R&D centre outside the US. Industrial hydrogen and future data-centre power are target applications; no specific data-centre supply contract is disclosed.
Why it matters
Ammonia cracking creates control requirements on both ammonia and hydrogen sides; equipment selection needs actual service conditions and technical specifications.
