The story explained

Gujarat Energy Limited announced a long-term LNG sales and purchase agreement with ADNOC on 6 November. Deliveries are expected to start in 2028 and total up to four million tonnes over ten years, sourced from the international gas portfolio of ADNOC’s investment company XRG.

A separate same-day exchange filing, GEL/SEC/2026/1637, names ADNOC Trading Limited as counterparty and specifies approximately 0.4 million tonnes per annum, with Henry Hub-linked pricing. The four-million-tonne figure is a ten-year total, not an annual commitment. Neither pricing coefficients nor total contract value are disclosed.

The company’s release says the transaction connects XRG supply produced outside the Gulf with Indian demand through ADNOC’s global LNG marketing and trading platform. That platform’s target of 47 million tonnes per annum of marketable LNG beyond 2030 is a separate corporate objective, not this contract’s volume or operating capacity.

The documents establish the long-term purchase arrangement and key commercial measures, but identify no receiving terminal, regasification expansion design or valve and pump packages. Terminal works, equipment awards and first cargo delivery therefore remain separate milestones to track.
