Catch-up: MAX Power cases Lawson 5 and starts Lawson 6 drilling
Catch-up from the original 26 October announcement: MAX Power said Lawson 5 reached 2,175 metres and was cased, while Lawson 6 drilling began about eight kilometres away. Commerciality remains unproven.

The story explained
Catch-up from the original 26 October announcement: MAX Power said Lawson 5 reached 2,175 metres and was cased, while Lawson 6 drilling began about eight kilometres away. Commerciality remains unproven.
Lawson 5 is a roughly 30-kilometre step-out from the original natural-hydrogen discovery, with 62 metres of core recovered for analysis. Whether it connects to the existing Lawson complex requires further drilling and geophysical work.
Completions started at Bracken, with Lawson testing planned subsequently to measure flow, hydrogen concentration, volumes and reservoir pressures. The announcement’s reference to “next week” is relative to 26 October; it is not a report of completed tests.
The update establishes exploration and testing progress without demonstrating sustained output, recoverable reserves or commercial production economics. Hydrogen indications across separate areas do not establish a continuous producible reservoir or dependable customer supply.
Why it matters
Editorial analysis: Separation, compression, metering and transport requirements depend on measured gas composition and sustained flow. Equipment scale cannot yet be inferred.
Relevant toNatural-hydrogen explorers, gas-treatment, valve, compressor and engineering companies
What to watch next
Watch sustained flow, concentration, pressure, connectivity and independent validation while preserving the exploration-stage classification and original date.
