The story explained

Equinor said on 15 October that TWEL will finish after commissioning the first electric export compressor on Troll C, without installing the second compressor in the original 2021 plan.

Installing that second machine could reduce Troll C production for up to 21 months. Year-round maximum production since 2023 has increased the value of available compression.

Partial electrification has cut annual CO₂ emissions by about 330,000 tonnes. Equinor expects the decision to make approximately 2.3 billion additional standard cubic metres of gas available during 2027–2028.
