Shanghaimiao tenders pipe and valve protection upgrades for four 1,000 MW units

CHN Energy’s Shanghaimiao power company issued works tender CEZB260109341 on November 4, 2026 for boiler-pipe, valve and equipment safety protection. The scope serves four existing 1,000 MW units operated by two companies at Shanghaimiao in Ordos, Inner Mongolia.

Work includes measuring, fabricating and installing coupling guards, electrical and instrumentation protection covers, and repairs to damaged or overheating pipe insulation and steam/water valve casings. High-temperature pipe insulation on the turbine hall’s 17-metre level will be removed, with waste disposal, and replaced by aerogel insulation and outer cladding.

Selected pipe and valve insulation that requires repeated removal for maintenance will be converted to reusable, formed-metal removable modules. The stated objective is easier dismantling and shorter maintenance work. This is a protection and insulation package, not confirmation of new generating capacity or replacement of the valves themselves.

Completion is required within one year after contract signing, subject to the owner’s work windows. Documents close November 9 at 11:00 and bids November 24 at 11:00, Beijing time. Applicants need the specified insulation-contractor qualification, safety permit and relevant power-plant guarding references; joint bids are excluded.
