Woodside signs 20-year QatarEnergy agreement for up to 3 Mtpa from Louisiana LNG
Woodside announced on October 29 a 20-year sale and purchase agreement with QatarEnergy for up to 3 million tonnes per annum of LNG from Louisiana LNG.

The story explained
Woodside announced on October 29 a 20-year sale and purchase agreement with QatarEnergy for up to 3 million tonnes per annum of LNG from Louisiana LNG. The project is under construction near Lake Charles, Louisiana, in the United States.
The foundation development comprises three trains with combined capacity of 16.5 Mtpa and targets first LNG in 2029. That project target does not mean the agreement’s full volume starts in 2029.
Deliveries will be free on board, beginning with Train 2 start-up and rising to 3 Mtpa when Train 3 starts. Woodside Energy (LA) Investments LLC will supply its share of HoldCo volumes.
Woodside says the agreement complements its previously announced Uniper arrangement in building the long-term customer base. The release concerns LNG offtake and identifies no valve, pump or compressor procurement award. First production and ramp-up remain dependent on project execution.
Why it matters
Editorial analysis: Long-term offtake supports revenue arrangements. Equipment opportunities still require package-specific procurement and delivery evidence.
