Chevron US refinery crude inputs reach 1.093 million b/d in Q3
The 30 October release reports nearly 98% US refinery utilisation; operating data do not establish valve orders.

The story explained
Chevron’s third-quarter results, released on 30 October, report US refinery crude inputs of 1.093 million barrels/day, up approximately 3% from 1.064 million a year earlier. The company reported US refinery utilisation approaching 98%.
International refinery crude inputs were broadly stable at 665,000 barrels/day versus 663,000. International refined-product sales fell from 1.517 million to 1.388 million barrels/day, primarily reflecting lower Middle East sales. Refinery inputs and product sales measure different activities.
Company capital expenditure was US$4.011 billion for the quarter, compared with US$4.444 billion a year earlier. Separately reported affiliate expenditure was US$360 million and is excluded from that company figure. Neither measure is a dedicated pump or valve budget.
The operating data cover the three months ended 30 September. Crude inputs are expressed in barrels/day and should not be confused with upstream oil-equivalent production. The release does not identify refinery valve tenders or equipment supplier contracts.
Why it matters
Editorial analysis: High utilisation makes reliability, leakage control and maintenance planning relevant. Actual equipment demand still requires plant-level outage and procurement evidence.
